GIANT news for Save the Giants! We have been invited to represent Guyana and her giant otters during the first ever Giant Otter Conservation Strategy Symposium! We are beyond excited to be a part of this important event and with such little notice to plan, we are in a pinch to raise the funds needed to get all of the team members to Peru.
Currently, we are focusing our efforts on securing enough funding to get our field manager, Kenneth Butler, to the symposium. As our Guyanese counterpart, Kenneth is our boots on the ground guy; coordinating the in country needs of the project, organizing otter surveys and making sure all of the data comes back to us here in the States after it is collected in the field.
Help us get Kenneth to Peru! We will be posting a new fundraiser this evening: "Paws and Prints for Peru," where you can buy a genuine baby giant otter paw print (collected during our last trip in March) mold and/or a print of one of my latest giant otter paintings.
All the proceeds will go towards Kenneth's airfare to the giant otter symposium being held on May 21st! We don't have much time, but we are hopeful that we can reach our goal!
Thanks in advance everyone! Stay tuned for further details on the fundraiser!
